Tubular feeders are long, slender
containers that usually are suspended from a tree or put on a
pole. Some models attach two or three tubes together, permitting
more birds to feed and several types of seed to be offered at the
same time. Tubes with perches above the feeding holes (upside
down finch feeders) are designed particularly for the acrobatic
goldfinches that have no problem eating head down. Small perches
and portals make it difficult for larger birds to use these
feeders, which can be an advantage if you're trying to be
selective.
